Construction Inspectors

We are always looking for talented Construction Inspectors for major, high visibility transit and roadway projects in the New York metropolitan area.

What You’ll Do:
You will be part of a project and construction management / oversight team for projects of the MTA (Construction & Development, Long Island RR, Metro North RR, Bridges & Tunnels), Port Authority of NY&NJ, NYSDOT, NYCEDC, NYCDDC, Hudson River Park Trust, NYC NYCDOT, NYC Parks & Rec., and others. Inspectors with backgrounds and skills in Steel, Concrete, and Civil construction are needed to monitor progress, verify quantities and ensure compliance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction safety standards. You will be located at the construction site and field office where your primary duties will include:

Conducting and documenting observations of construction.
Interpreting drawings and documents, including work orders and build documents
Reviewing plans and specifications for the construction operations being performed, and reporting field site results and on-going information to supervising project managers
Preparing daily field reports, including communication of deficiencies observed in the field
Overseeing testing of construction materials to meet quality assurance requirements of the design or assist with the maintenance of a database of information concerning ongoing projects

We’re Looking For:

Required Qualifications

Strength of character and integrity; in word and in deed
B.S. ,or Associates (Engineering, Architecture, or related field), or NICET II, III, or IV Certification
A valid driver’s license & car, if position is for inspection of roadway construction work
An understanding and ability to interpret written specifications, plans, and construction documents for work orders and build documents
Naturally, you’ll need strong computer skills (Microsoft Office) etc.
Must possess the physical ability to move around an active construction site
Legal authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with NYCT, NYSDOT, or other local agencies
Proficiency with web-based construction document management platforms
PE or EIT
Certification for ACI Concrete Testing, work zone traffic control, OSHA 30 safety training certification and/or other relevant certifications
ICC Certification
